A new DCCC TV ad released today underlines vulnerable Congressman Steve Knight’s extreme views on abortion and women’s health.
Knight and Donald Trump share dangerous positions on women’s health, but Knight’s views are frighteningly more extreme. Both oppose a woman’s right to choose, but Knight doesn’t even believe in exceptions for rape, incest, or when the life of the woman is at risk.
Both Knight and Trump want to defund Planned Parenthood, and Knight even voted against allowing nurses to administer common forms of birth control and voted against requiring insurers to cover contraception. As if that weren’t enough, Knight voted against protecting working women from being fired by their employers for using birth control and even co-sponsored legislation that would allow employers to fire single women who became pregnant.
“Congressman Steve Knight’s extreme views on women’s health go way too far for the voters of the 25th District,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Voters need a representative like Bryan Caforio who would stand up against extremists like Trump and stand up for a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions.”
