DCCC’s First TV Ad in TX-21: Chip Roy Would Gut Health Care

New TV ad “Get” will reach Texans on San Antonio broadcast starting today

Today, the DCCC released its first television ad in Texas’ 21st Congressional District, “Get,” exposing Congressman Chip Roy as a lifelong political insider who can’t be trusted with your health care. The ads will reach Texans in the 21st District on San Antonio broadcast beginning Tuesday.

At the center of the ad is Congressman Roy’s time pocketing $130,000 from a special interest group that’s suing to overturn the entire Affordable Care Act, and with it protections for people with pre-existing conditions, with no replacement.

WATCH: “Get

“Texans across this district are learning just how dangerous and extreme Congressman Roy is, from the $130,000 he was paid by a special interest group suing to take away your health care to Roy’s reckless votes to do it himself in Congress,” DCCC spokesman Avery Jaffe said. “This new ad makes it clear: Congressman Roy is a lifelong political insider who works for the special interests, not you.”

Transcript:

VO: What does $130,000 get you in Texas?

A three-bedroom house in San Antonio.

A couple of boats.

And one Chip Roy.

It was Roy who worked for an organization that tried to gut protections for pre-existing conditions…

… then went to Congress and—you guessed it—tried to do the very same thing.

Tried to kick millions off health care, too.

Why? Maybe because Chip Roy’s always worked for special interests…

Not for you.
