Today, the DCCC launched a six-figure digital advertising campaign to reach Black voters that will remind them Democrats are fighting to protect Black women’s reproductive freedom. It’s a part of the committee’s seven-figure effort to reach voters of color on the issue of women’s freedom and protecting access to abortion.
The ad, titled “They’re Coming For Us,” will kick off on digital platforms for voters in battleground districts across Michigan, Ohio and Virginia. It follows ads aimed to reach Black voters last April, the committee’s earliest ever investment. It’s a part of the Building Our Base Project, a long-term strategy, with an initial investment of $30 million, to bolster the committee’s efforts to build stronger relationships with voters of color across the country.
“We need to remind Black voters that Republicans are not for Us, they have shown us who they are over and over again. Now they want to implement a nationwide abortion ban that strips women of their freedom,” said Christale Spain, DCCC Senior Advisor for Black Engagement. “Democrats know that Black women’s lives matter and we’re going to fight to protect our freedom.”
Digital Ad: “Coming For Us”
They’ve come for us before.
Voting rights.
Our Civil Rights.
Segregation.
They’re still coming. MAGA Republicans never quit.
But now it’s the choice . . . the rights . . . the freedom . . . of Black women.
They’ve already begun to reduce us and they won’t stop.
They’re coming for us.
But we’re coming for their jobs first.
