After Defending Allegations Of Domestic Violence From Endorsed Candidate Dan Rodimer, NRCC Triples-Down And Promotes Him

Rodimer Promoted To McCarthy and NRCC’s Young Guns Following 911 Calls and Police Reports Detailing Domestic Violence and Grand Theft

The NRCC and Minority Leader McCarthy have promoted accused serial-assaulter and violent criminal Dan Rodimer to the highest level of their “Young Guns” program, even after recent reports detailing 911 calls and police reports  containing allegations of domestic violence.

This follows DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos and other House Leadership having made repeated calls on the NRCC and McCarthy to disavow Rodimer’s candidacy following these allegations, including domestic violence and grand theft totaling $200,000 of jewelry, guns and cash.

Rodimer’s most recent run-ins with law enforcement from 2018 are certainly not his first. From 2006 to 2013, Rodimer had four incidents involving violence or domestic disturbance, including a 2006 call for a domestic disturbance with a then-girlfriend and three police reports from 2010 to 2013 involving assault and battery. The first assault and battery case in 2010 resulted in the then 32-year old Rodimer to plead guilty to charges of battery. Rodimer’s attack in a Florida Waffle House left his victim with “intracranial bleeding,” and in need of serious medical care.

“911 calls alleging domestic violence should always be taken seriously – but when it comes to one of their endorsed candidates, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Tom Emmer would rather sweep domestic violence under the rug and instead promote their candidate to the upper echelon of their failing efforts to retake the House,” said DCCC Spokesperson Andy Orellana. “A candidate that has been charged with battery, multiple accusations of assault and the perpetrator of alleged incidences of domestic violence and disturbances – these are the qualities of a candidate with a criminal past, like Rodimer’s, that make him unfit to run for public office let alone serve in Congress. House Republicans who have lined up behind Rodimer, including Minority Leader McCarthy and the NRCC, have a responsibility to cut ties with their candidate.”
