DELAYED: Rauner Anti-Union Victory Lap

Governor Bruce Rauner is in Washington, D.C. ready to “take a victory lap” if he wins his anti-union case, Janus vs. AFSCME, in front of the Supreme Court.

We can only assume that his political allies and campaign cash recipients Reps. Mike Bost and Rodney Davis are ready to celebrate with him.

After all, Bost and Davis have spent all year attacking working families and undermining unions, whether it was giving handouts to corporations while raising premiums on Illinois families, or voting to gut overtime pay and protections for federal workers.

Unfortunately for the trio they will have to keep the champagne on ice for another day, as the Supreme Court is going to wait until at least tomorrow to hand down a decision in the case.

But we’re sure that Bost and Davis will use the time to show Rauner the sights and brainstorm more ways to undermine protections and raise costs for workers and their families.

“Rep. Mike Bost and Rep. Rodney Davis’ anti-union victory lap with Governor Rauner is on hold, but the truth is that they have been celebrating their agenda of attacking working families and raising costs all year, and voters are already paying attention.”  – DCCC Spokesperson Jacob Peters
