Democrat-Funded Bridges Over Troubled GOP Waters

The NRCC and House Republicans’ Troubling Tuesday

The NRCC is having a bad day.

Last night, their honored guest at dinner, former President Trump, attacked swing-district GOP members who voted for the bipartisan infrastructure package.

Then this morning, Punchbowl News reported that rank-and-file GOP members are attempting to strip committee assignments from GOP lawmakers who supported the bipartisan infrastructure package. This comes following reports of GOP members facing the threat of primary challengers over their BIF vote. Yeesh.

The NRCC’s newest ad got fact-checked for using the chaos of the Trump years to attack Biden.

Not to be outdone, the committee was caught using Ed Durr — the New Jersey GOP truck driver with disturbing views on antisemitismJanuary 6th lies, and open Qanon support — to fundraise. This is a consistent trend of embracing extremism for the NRCC under Chairman Tom Emmer, who over the summer refused to say they wouldn’t support insurrectionists and then included election liars on their “Young Guns” list of Republican candidates who “embody the principles of the House Republican Conference.”

DCCC Spokesperson James Singer

“Days after Kevin McCarthy failed to keep his caucus in line on the historic infrastructure vote, House Republicans are caught in a circular firing squad. Now a year out from next year’s midterms, the NRCC and House Republicans are making clear they welcome dangerous conspiracy theories, open bigotry, and outright lies as Democrats offer voters something else: results.”
