March Jobs Report Blows Past Expectations, 916,000 New Jobs Reported Following Passage of The American Rescue Plan
Friday, the U.S. Labor Department reported that in March the United States added 916,000 new jobs – blowing past economists’ estimates that the U.S. would only add 675,000 jobs as the nation builds back from the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Because President Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress passed the American Rescue Plan, the economy is being boosted by speedier vaccine rollout, access to testing, support for small businesses, and cash in the pockets of American families that is helping crush the virus, restore consumer confidence and get Americans working again.
The American people won’t forget who has their back as the nation recovers from the devastating economic blow of COVID-19. Washington Republicans – including every single House Republican — voted against critical relief to American families and small business owners.
DCCC Spokesperson Chris Taylor:
“The American Rescue Plan is delivering real results, getting people back to work and restoring hope as the nation recovers from the economic impact of COVID. Every single Washington Republican voted against the economic relief families are beginning to feel. Shame on them — the American people won’t forget it.”
