House Democrats and Red to Blue candidates are dominating in Q1 fundraising, raising commanding numbers against their Republican opponents and strong momentum at the outset of 2026. Democrats outraised Republicans in 42 of the DCCC’s battleground districts.
DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley: “These enormous fundraising numbers prove that Democrats have the money, momentum, and message to take back the House this November. With commanding leads across the battleground — including against a number of high profile Republican incumbents — Democrats are poised to dominate the final six months of the midterm campaign and deliver on lowering costs for the American people.”

Even at a time of inflated political-fundraising hauls, the numbers Democrats reported Wednesday stand out. Many of the Democratic Party’s top candidates reported gargantuan fundraising totals for the first three months of the year — figures that reinforce the party’s growing confidence that it is gaining momentum roughly six months before the midterm election.
Democratic candidate Rebecca Cooke ($2.4 million) outraised Rep. Derrick Van Orden ($1.3 million) in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District. Sarah Trone Garriott ($1.7 million) raised more than Republican Rep. Zach Nunn ($1.3 million) in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District. Janelle Stelson ($2.2 million) collected more than Rep. Scott Perry ($1.1 million). JoAnna Mendoza ($2.4 million) hauled in more than Rep. Juan Ciscomani ($1.1 million).
In House races considered competitive by Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales, 13 Democratic challengers outraised the Republican incumbents they’re seeking to unseat, while three GOP challengers outraised Democratic lawmakers.
A handful of those challengers raised more than $2 million in the first three months of the year, an eye-popping sum for House candidates. They included Democrats JoAnna Mendoza in Arizona’s 6th District, Christina Bohannan in Iowa’s 1st, Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania’s 10th and Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s 3rd.
