| Vulnerable House Republicans who wrote phony letters to the Deputy Speaker begging for a show vote on extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits are set to cave to GOP leaders (again!), punting on their promise to lower health insurance premiums.
Punchbowl News reports that Deputy Speaker Johnson will NOT allow the so-called Republican moderates an amendment vote to extend the ACA tax credits, despite their push for a show vote.
Now, these members from competitive districts will be forced to make a choice between joining a common sense proposal to extend tax credits for three-years, as every House Democrat has done, or cave to their Deputy Speaker and the most unpopular president in American history. What will it be?
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“As Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson sides with Donald Trump’s concepts of a health care plan, vulnerable House Republicans are scrambling. We’ve always known their phony letters and half-assed press releases were just noise.” |
