In an interview last night, Derrick Anderson once again praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, giving “the issue back to the states.”
Since the Dobbs decision, state politicians have enacted horrific abortion bans with no exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the woman. Many states have banned abortion before women even know that they’re pregnant.
The ruling Anderson continues to praise has led to unthinkable and heartbreaking experiences for women across the country:
In Ohio, a pregnant 10-year-old girl was forced to travel to Indiana for an abortion after being raped because of the state’s 6 week abortion ban.
Virginia is the last state in the South that hasn’t banned abortion since Dobbs. Since then, women have been forced to travel to Virginia abortion clinics to receive care. However with no federal protections, Virginians would be denied access should House Republicans have their way and enact a federal abortion ban.
DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“Derrick Anderson wants politicians – not women – to dictate what women do with their lives and bodies. Virginians deserve representation that reflects their pro-freedom, pro-family values, and Eugene Vindman is the only candidate in this race who will proudly defend abortion rights.”
