Despite Hateful Rhetoric, Trump to Fundraise for Pennsylvania Republicans

Costello, Meehan, Petri, Malik Are All Set to Benefit from Friday’s Fundraiser with Donald Trump

Hours after Donald Trump called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S., the Republican National Committee confirmed that Trump was no longer attending a scheduled fundraiser in New York.  Despite this development, Trump’s disparaging comments have not changed Pennsylvania Republicans’ plans to feature Donald Trump at a scheduled fundraiser in New York on Friday.  Though some have announced they are not attending, the campaigns of Pennsylvania Republicans Congressman Ryan Costello, Congressman Pat Meehan, State Rep. Scott Petri and Dean Malik are set to benefit from Trump’s dangerous rhetoric.

“After Donald Trump’s latest offensive attack on the Muslim community, it’s simply not enough for Pennsylvania Republicans to just skip Friday’s fundraiser when the proceeds will benefit their campaigns,” said DCCC spokesman Jermaine House. “Pennsylvania Republicans running for Congress should take a stand for American values and call on their state party to stop fundraising with Donald Trump and reject any funds from this event.”
