Did Carpetbagger and Failed Politician Paul Junge Try To Buy His Way onto the Ballot?

After striking out on multiple potential recruits, National Republicans are stuck with carpetbagger Paul Junge who’s embroiled in ballot challenge and ethical misconduct allegations

National Republicans struggled for months to find a Republican willing to lose to Congressman Dan Kildee. But after settling for out-of-towner and failed politician Paul Junge, they’re likely regretting their decision.

Paul Junge is facing a challenge to his candidacy due to potentially defective signatures and claims of attempting to buy signatures for as much as $10,000 from a petition circulator working for his primary opponent.

Even if carpetbagger Junge makes the ballot, his alleged scheme is already leaving a bad taste in mid-Michigan Republicans’ mouths, with one Genesee County Republican Party Executive Committee member calling Junge’s conduct “not honorable.”

“Out-of-towner and failed politician Paul Junge wants to buy his way into Congress the same way he appears to have tried to buy his way onto the ballot,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Republicans scraped the bottom of the barrel trying to find someone to take on Dan Kildee on his own turf – and a shady, out-of-touch carpetbagger was all they could come up with.”
