Late last night, the Florida House passed a draconian bill banning abortions after 15 weeks, while also voting down exceptions for extreme cases like rape and incest.
Carlos Giménez and María Elvira Salazar have sat back as attacks on reproductive rights and Roe v. Wade ramp up across the country, with Florida leading the way.
Last September, when the House of Representatives sought to protect abortion and reproductive healthcare through the Women’s Health Protection Act, Gimenez and Salazar voted “NO” on codifying Roe v. Wade protections.
Now that Florida is on the brink of unraveling reproductive rights, it’s time for Carlos Giménez and María Elvira Salazar to square with their constituents and announce whether or not they support this dangerous, regressive law that tears apart the medical rights of millions of Floridians.
