Anti-abortion extremists in the CO-08 GOP primary have stayed silent on the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that has already started causing IVF providers to pause treatments and threatening women’s ability to decide how or when to start a family.
Scott James, Gabe Evans, Janak Joshi, and Joe Andujo owe voters their stance on the ruling and whether they support restrictions on IVF, but they’ve already made their support for restricting reproductive freedom crystal clear:
James said he believed life begins at conception, allying himself with proponents of a total national abortion ban, and introduced a “Sanctity of Life” resolution before the Weld County Commission that sought to undermine abortion protections outlined in Colorado law.
Joshi sponsored a bill in the Colorado state legislature that would criminalize abortion.
Andujo supported the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and said he chooses to “celebrate life.”
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“There continue to be dangerous and extreme attacks on a woman’s right to decide how or when to start a family, and anti-abortion extremists in the CO-08 Republican primary haven’t said a word. Coloradans deserve to know where they stand.”
