Do Mike Bouchard Jr. and Robert Lulgjuraj Agree Michigan Automakers Should “Let China Come In” to Michigan?

The Drive: ‘Let China Come In’ to US Auto Industry Trump Says While in Detroit: TDS

This week, Trump told American automakers they should “let China come in” to the U.S. auto industry to American markets.

Where are Mike Bouchard Jr. and Robert Lulgjuraj?

Bouchard Jr. and Lulgjuraj have nothing to say about Trump “tout[ing] his openness to Chinese automakers in the U.S. as they eye the American market” – a threat to both Michigan’s jobs and American national security.

The Alliance for American Manufacturing agrees, slamming this move as a “mistake” and warning about what it would mean for “millions of American jobs supported by automobile manufacturing,” not to mention national security risks given that these Chinese auto companies “answer to the Chinese Communist Party.”

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“While their party bosses plot out plans to allow China into American auto markets and screw over Michigan autoworkers, Mike Bouchard Jr. and Robert Lulgjuraj are nowhere to be found. Countless families in Michigan’s 10th district depend on good-paying automaking jobs, but Bouchard Jr. and Lulgjuraj support this agenda that puts Michiganders at risk – they can’t be trusted to stand up for autoworkers.”
