Do Tanya Wheeless and Kelly Cooper Agree With Their Party That Roe Should Be Overturned?

Following leaked SCOTUS opinion, voters deserve to know where Wheeless and Cooper stand

On Monday, Politico reported on an initial leaked Supreme Court opinion that strikes down Roe v. Wade, delivering a devastating blow to safe, legal abortion access in America.

This came on the heels of a Washington Post report that Republicans plan on pushing a 6-week national ban on abortion and other states criminalizing abortions.

The NRCC – led by Tom Emmer, who is co-sponsoring legislation to ban all abortions and certain types of birth control such as IUDs – has added both Kelly Cooper and Tanya Wheeless (AZ-04) to its On the Radar list. And Republican Party leaders like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy voiced support for the draft decision overturning Roe.

Still, Wheeless and Cooper have refused to denounce the reports that SCOTUS will virtually end access to safe, legal abortion in America. Do Tanya Wheeless and Kelly Cooper agree with their Washington ringleaders that Roe v. Wade should be overturned?

Reminder: Recent polling found that 90% of Arizona voters support the right to choose and around 70% of Americans oppose overturning Roe.

“It’s time for Kelly Cooper and Tanya Wheeless to be honest with Arizonans: Does they agree with their Republican Party ringleaders that Roe should be overturned and abortion should be banned?” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson.
