Does Amir Hassan Agree Michigan Automakers Should “Let China Come In” to Michigan?

The Drive: ‘Let China Come In’ to US Auto Industry Trump Says While in Detroit: TDS

This week, Trump told American automakers they should “let China come in” to the U.S. auto industry to American markets.

Where is Amir Hassan?

Hassan has nothing to say about Trump “tout[ing] his openness to Chinese automakers in the U.S. as they eye the American market” – a threat to both Michigan’s jobs and American national security.

The Alliance for American Manufacturing agrees, slamming this move as a “mistake” and warning about what it would mean for “millions of American jobs supported by automobile manufacturing,” not to mention national security risks given that these Chinese auto companies “answer to the Chinese Communist Party.”

REMINDER: Hassan said he wants to “reinforce” Trump’s economic agenda – an agenda that includes auto-industry crushing tariffs and now “let[ting] China come in” to American auto markets.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“While his party bosses plot to welcome China into American auto markets and allow the CCP to steal technology and screw over Michigan autoworkers, Amir Hassan is nowhere to be found. Hassan supports the agenda that’s killing Michigan manufacturing jobs and he can’t be trusted to stand up for Mid-Michigan workers.”
