Does Mike Lawler Support Ending Birthright Citizenship?

As Donald Trump pushes his deeply unpopular effort to roll back the constitutional guarantee to birthright citizenship at the Supreme Court, Mike Lawler owes Hudson Valley voters answers.

Mike Lawler has been silent on thisIn a district where immigrant families and Latino voters play a decisive role, Lawler’s silence speaks volumes.

Last year, Lawler baselessly questioned the citizenship status of a Latino Westchester County legislator during a discussion about ICE at a public meeting.

Polling shows the American people overwhelmingly reject efforts to end birthright citizenship and two-thirds support maintaining it regardless of parents’ status.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Does Mike Lawler agree with Donald Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship – yes or no? He owes Lower Hudson Valley voters an answer. Instead of standing up for the Constitution and the families he represents, Lawler is hiding behind silence while Trump pushes an extreme, dangerous agenda.”

REMINDER: Trump’s executive order would strip citizenship from children born in the United States unless a parent is a citizen or permanent resident, a direct attack on the 14th Amendment and a policy that lower courts have already blocked.
