Does Monica De La Cruz Agree With Her Party That Roe Should Be Overturned?

Following leaked SCOTUS opinion, voters deserve to know where Monica De La Cruz stands

On Monday, Politico reported on an initial leaked Supreme Court opinion that strikes down Roe v. Wade, delivering a devastating blow to safe, legal abortion access in America.

This came on the heels of a Washington Post report that Republicans plan on pushing a 6-week national ban on abortion and other states criminalizing abortions.

The NRCC – led by Tom Emmer, who is co-sponsoring legislation to ban all abortions and certain types of birth control such as IUDs – has added Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) to its Young Guns list. De La Cruz has also been endorsed by Kevin McCarthy, who this week voiced support for the draft decision overturning Roe.

Still, De La Cruz refused to denounce the reports that SCOTUS will virtually end access to safe, legal abortion in America. Does Monica De La Cruz agree with her Washington ringleaders that Roe v. Wade should be overturned?

Reminder: Recent national polls find around 70% of Americans oppose overturning Roe.

“It’s time for Monica De La Cruz to be honest with Texans: Does she agree with her Republican Party ringleaders that Roe should be overturned and abortion should be banned?” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson.
