Does Salazar Support Florida’s Extreme Abortion Ban?

Judge temporarily blocks Florida’s radical new law prohibiting all abortions after 15 weeks with no exceptions

As voters are reeling from the roll back of 50 years of constitutionally protected reproductive rights, María Elvira Salazar still has yet to say where she stands on Florida’s draconian abortion ban.

Salazar voted “NO” on the Women’s Health Protection Act which would have codified Roe v. Wade protections into law, and praised the Supreme Court overturning Roe and giving “power back to the states.”

Now as a Florida judge blocks legislation that would prohibit all abortions in the state after 15 weeks of pregnancy, Salazar needs to face her constituents and finally say whether or not she supports this dangerous, regressive law that destroys the medical rights of millions of Floridians.

“María Elvira Salazar has refused to comment on Florida’s deadly abortion ban for months,” said DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre. “Now with these latest rulings, South Floridians need to know where she stands on this life-threatening legislation.”
