| Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, Don Bacon and Nebraska Republicans voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans today.
House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes more than $1.8 million from Nebraska for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.
The program most hurt by Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.
REMINDER: Under Nebraska Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law alone, Nebraska would see a spike of $245 in annual energy bills.
And, both Republican candidates for NE02, Brinker Harding and Brett Lindstrom endorsed the Big Ugly Law.
