Don Bacon Continues to Embrace Trump’s MAGA Extremism, Downplays January 6th

Don Bacon continues to show he’s all in for Donald Trump

When asked about Trump’s “dictatorial fashion,” Don Bacon doubled down on the former president’s extreme agenda, saying he supported “80-90% of [his policies].”

Then, Bacon went on to downplay the deadly January 6th insurrection, dismissing the violence and saying the future of the country wasn’t at stake. He even tried to excuse some election conspiracies that led to the insurrection, pointing to “gray areas” and “legitimate concerns” about new voting laws.

This is hardly a surprise after Bacon praised January 6th insurrectionists who attacked the police as “patriots” and “outstanding, wonderful people,” and even stated that “many of them are my friends.”

After endorsing Trump for a third time, it’s clear Bacon will stand with the MAGA president no matter what. And after Trump previewed his plan for banning abortion nationwide last night, Bacon – who has three times co-sponsored a national abortion ban with no exceptions – will be right by his side to lead the charge.
