| According to new analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Don Bacon and House Republicans’ Tax Scam bill would increase the national deficit by $2.4 trillion.
In Bacon’s quest to deliver massive tax cuts for billionaires, he’s supporting kicking nearly tens of thousands of people in NE-02 off their health care, threatening SNAP access for more than 20,000 families, taking money out of Nebraskan farmers’ wallets, and saddling Nebraska’s children with trillions of dollars in debt.
Bacon has previously railed against any legislation that would increase the deficit, including increases that are far smaller than the $2.4 trillion debt increase he voted for last month. As Nebraskans continue to struggle with inflation, this added debt could mean higher rates for mortgages, car loans, and credit cards.

“Don Bacon’s fake ‘fiscally-responsible’ mask is slipping. The deficit clearly only matters to him when he’s opposing the child tax credit or lowering prescription drug prices. Now we know he’s more than willing to flip-flop on the national debt when it means cutting taxes for the wealthiest people in the country.” |
