Don Bacon Shares Blame for the Overturning of Roe v. Wade

The Supreme Court has officially overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion for millions of women and undoing 50 years of precedent. It’s a future that Don Bacon has long worked towards – and now he will have to own up to his extreme, deeply unpopular positions. 

Nebraskans need to know Bacon’s dangerous record on women’s rights and health care. He: 

• Wants to make abortion illegal even in cases of rape and incest or to prevent the death of a mother;

• Defended Texas’ draconian six-week abortion ban that put a bounty on anyone who helps a woman get an abortion;

• Voted to defund Planned Parenthood, which would restrict Nebraska women access to basic health care like cancer screenings and birth control;

• Voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, which would expand protections for survivors of domestic abuse and stalking.

Make no mistake: Bacon is out of step with the majority of voters in Nebraska’s Second Congressional District who support access to abortion. He will be held accountable for his party’s role in decimating women’s reproductive freedoms and their plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban against the will of Nebraskans.
