Omaha elects its first Democratic Mayor in over a decade, spelling trouble for Bacon in NE-02
Last night, the people of Omaha rejected the false promises of three-term incumbent Republican Jean Stothert to elect Democrat John Ewing in a landslide victory, spelling doom for Don Bacon in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
As the largest population center in NE-02, the Omaha mayoral race strongly indicates that Democrats are well positioned to unseat Don Bacon in this hotly contested midterm election.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Don Bacon can’t ignore the writing on the wall. This election is simply the latest indication that Nebraskans are tired of the false promises Republicans are trying to sell. Voters want real results, and clearly Don Bacon and his Republican buddies can’t deliver. In 2026, Nebraskans are going to elect a Democrat who can.”
