Donald Trump Brags About Overturning of Roe v. Wade, Calls it a ‘Miracle’: John James Agrees

This week, Donald Trump bragged about his role in stripping away women’s reproductive freedoms saying, “For 54 years they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it. And I’m proud to have done it… We did something that was a miracle.”

It’s clear that John James agrees, given:

• James has said that he is “100% Pro-Life. Always have been. Always will be” and even compared abortion to genocide.

• James supported overturning Roe v. Wade and promised to “not stop fighting until we end abortion.”

• James opposed abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

• James voted against consideration of the Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify the reproductive freedoms Roe v. Wade guaranteed.

• James also voted to pass anti-choice legislation that could imprison doctors and is “chock-full of misinformation and creates more barriers to care.”

• James has claimed “[n]ow that people in Michigan have made their decision, it is my job as the representative to represent my district.” But he already reneged on that promise, and voted to restrict the safe, legal abortion medication mifepristone.

REMINDER: According to recent polling, support for abortion access remains at record levels as GOP politicians like James continue to target women and doctors for seeking or providing essential health care.
