This week, Donald Trump bragged about his role in stripping away women’s reproductive freedoms saying, “For 54 years they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it. And I’m proud to have done it… We did something that was a miracle.”
It’s clear that Miller-Meeks agrees, given she:
Co-sponsored a national abortion ban with no exceptions.
Voted to amend the Iowa state Constitution to repeal the right to abortion – similar to a measure the GOP-led legislature is trying to put on the ballot in November.
Co-sponsored legislation that further chips away at abortion coverage for women with both private and public insurance.
Voted to allow states to ban abortion by blocking consideration of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would have codified the reproductive freedoms Roe v. Wade guaranteed before the Supreme Court ripped them away.
REMINDER: According to recent polling, support for abortion access remains at record levels as GOP politicians like Miller-Meeks continue to target women and doctors for seeking or providing essential health care.
