Donald Trump Caught Accidentally Foreshadowing Ban on Birth Control

Today, Donald Trump said he is open to restricting or banning birth control, saying when asked by a Pittsburgh TV station if he support any restrictions on contraception: “We’re looking at that, and I’m going to have a policy on that very shortly, and I think it’s something that you’ll find interesting. I think it’s a smart decision. But we’ll be releasing it very soon.”

The Republican frontrunner for president has previously celebrated his “miracle” efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade and proposed a national abortion ban.

House Republicans continue to stand behind Trump and help further his attacks on reproductive freedoms, supporting dangerous legislation to restrict access to medication abortion, ban in vitro fertilization, and ban abortion nationwide. House Republicans overwhelmingly voted against legislation to protect access to contraception nationwide in 2022. In the 118th Congress alone, they have passed four bills that would restrict access to reproductive care and introduced an additional six anti-abortion bills – including two total national abortion bans.

With Trump’s latest foreshadowing, House Republicans now have their green light to continue targeting birth control as well.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Vulnerable House Republicans have proven time and again that, no matter what Trump says or does, they’ll always embrace his extremism – and today that means embracing Trump’s continued attacks against reproductive freedoms.”
