Doubling Down: Kean Jr. Calls Ripping Away Health Care from New Jerseyans “Beautiful”

The vulnerable Republican cast a decisive committee vote last week to advance major cuts to Medicaid

New Jersey residents are worried that their access to health care is at risk as Republicans in Congress advance massive cuts to Medicaid to fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

So what does Tom Kean Jr. think about the fact that tens of thousands of his constituents could be stripped of the health insurance they rely on? He’s calling it “beautiful.”

Reminder: Roughly 2 million people across the Garden State, including 73,000 people in NJ-07, rely on Medicaid for health care coverage.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Ripping health care away from your constituents isn’t ‘beautiful,’ it’s cruel. By doubling down on his support for massive cuts to Medicaid, Kean Jr. is digging his own political grave.”
