Dr. Yadira Caraveo Added to Competitive DCCC ‘Red to Blue’ Program

State Representative Yadira Caraveo would be first Latina elected to Congress from Colorado

Today, DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney announced that the DCCC added two candidates to the highly competitive Red to Blue program.

On that list is Dr. Yadira Caraveo, who is running in Colorado’s newly created 8th Congressional District, which is now the most heavily Hispanic congressional district in the state.

Dr. Caraveo earned a spot on the DCCC’s coveted Red to Blue program by clearing the field in her primary and surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization, and fundraising. Beyond her record of leadership in the state legislature – taking on corporate greed, cutting costs and codifying Roe v. Wade into state law – Caraveo boasts an authentic message and deep ties to the community she will serve in Congress.

“As the soon-to-be first Latina elected to Congress from Colorado, Dr. Yadira Caraveo will give the residents of CO-08 the voice in Washington they deserve. Dr. Caraveo is a first-generation American who has dedicated her life to serving working families as both a pediatrician and state legislator,” said DCCC spokesperson Maddy Mundy. “While Republicans fight to be crowned the next Lauren Boebert in CO-08’s Republican primary, Dr. Caraveo’s record of results proves she is the fierce leader Coloradans need.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to develop strong campaigns. Through Red to Blue, the DCCC also provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings and more.
