Duarte Dodge: Vulnerable GOP Congressman Again Refuses to Comment on California GOP Abortion Scrub From Party Platform

As the California GOP continues considering whether to scrub anti-choice positions from their platform in a desperate ploy to help their electoral chances, vulnerable House Republican John Duarte is still refusing to tell voters where he actually stands.

When a local reporter directly asked what he makes of the California GOP “considering removing opposition to a federally protected right to abortion from the party platform,” Duarte dodged the question altogether. Unfortunately it’s no surprise, given his terrible voting record of making it harder for women to access reproductive health care.

DCCC spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“Duarte has voted to make it harder for women to access reproductive care while members of his own state party begin to see the writing on the wall. Unfortunately for him, no amount of question dodging will cover up that dangerous and unpopular record.”
