Eddy Aragon Silent as New Mexico’s Public Lands Under Attack

As House Republicans prepare to return to Washington to push their extreme agenda, one thing is clear: the fight for New Mexico’s public lands is far from over.

In their latest budget scheme, Republicans threatened to sell off 14 million acres of New Mexico’s public lands to the highest bidder — opening the door to privatization, erasure of Tribal sites, and the loss of outdoor spaces that fuel local economies and support hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Eddy Aragon’s response? Silence.

While D.C. Republicans work to auction off New Mexico’s heritage for the benefit of a wealthy few, Aragon refuses to take a stance on the issues that matter most to New Mexicans.

Meanwhile, Congressman Gabe Vasquez is leading the charge to safeguard New Mexico’s public lands – rallying bipartisan support to successfully beat back repeated GOP attempts to gut protections for federally protected land.

The contrast is clear: Vasquez is fighting for New Mexico’s land, culture, and economy. Aragon isn’t showing up at all.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Where is Eddy Aragon? Silent while New Mexico’s public lands are under attack. Aragon is a three time-failed candidate whose loyalty to the D.C. Republican agenda speaks louder than any commitment to New Mexicans. Voters know who’s fighting for them — and that’s Gabe Vasquez.”
