Eight Months Later, Americans Are Paying the Price for Republicans’ Reckless War in Iran

Every single vulnerable House Republican voted to back the war

Today marks eight months since Donald Trump, backed by House Republicans, pulled the American people into a reckless war of choice in Iran with no end in sight. As families pay $4.25/gal to fill up the tank and watch prices soar on groceries and everyday goods, House Republicans continue to throw their constituents under the bus.

Americans’ confidence in the economy is “in a tailspin,” with consumer confidence at a lower point than during the Great Recession.

REMINDER: Trump said the war in Iran would be over in a matter of weeks but, after eight months, more than 20 service members killed, $47 billion in military spending, and more than $100 billion in excess consumer spending on fuel alone, the war is no closer to ending than when it started.

DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“House Republicans have been a rubber stamp for Trump’s reckless war of choice in Iran, which has hit hardworking families everywhere from the gas station to the grocery store. Americans are sick of this endless conflict and the Republicans enabling it, and it will cost them their majority.”
