Eight Months Later, New Mexicans Are Paying the Price for the Greg Cunningham-Backed War in Iran

Yesterday marked eight months since Donald Trump, backed by Greg Cunningham, pulled New Mexicans into a reckless war of choice in Iran with no end in sight. As New Mexico families pay more than $4 a gallon to fill up the tank and watch prices soar on groceries and everyday goods, Cunningham continues to throw New Mexicans under the bus.

American’s confidence in the economy is “in a tailspin,” with consumer confidence at a lower point than during the Great Recession.

The Cunningham-backed war in Iran has cost New Mexicans an average of $728 per household.

REMINDER: Trump said the war in Iran would be over in a matter of weeks, but after eight months, $47 billion in military spending, and more than $100 billion in excess consumer spending on fuel alone, the war is no closer to ending than when it started. Cunningham has supported the war in Iran every step of the way, and implied New Mexicans struggling with rising costs should just “hang on.”

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Greg Cunningham is running to be a rubber stamp for Trump’s reckless war of choice in Iran, which is raising prices everywhere from the gas station to the grocery store. New Mexicans are sick of this endless war, and Cunningham’s extreme agenda is going to cost him this election.”
