Republican Study Committee Chair Jim Banks is financially supporting Eli Crane in the AZ-02 race. Banks – the man who chairs a committee that represents nearly 75% of the House Republican Conference – recently vowed to use the necessary raising of the debt limit to leverage House Republicans’ plan to cut Social Security and Medicare if Republicans win a majority.
The super PAC supporting Banks’ “policy agenda” is dropping last-minute cash to boost Crane because Banks knows Crane will fall in line and support Republican leadership’s plan to gut seniors’ hard-earned Social Security and Medicare.
DCCC Spokesperson Monica Robinson:
“House Republicans have made their goal of cutting Social Security and Medicare clear. Eli Crane and his Washington backers are a threat to everyday seniors’ pocketbooks – voters will reject them in November.”
