Eliott Rodriguez Added to DCCC’s Coveted ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Eliott will flip FL-27 blue and help take back the House majority

Today, the DCCC announced that Eliott Rodriguez has been added to the committee’s highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Rodriguez, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as he runs for Florida’s 27th Congressional District.

“As South Floridians lose trust in María Elvira Salazar, they are looking for a reliable voice they can depend on to fight for them in Congress – that person is Eliott Rodriguez. Eliott has lived among and with Miami-Dade’s communities and understands how the astronomical increase in the cost of living is impacting families like his. He’s fighting to get to Congress to make life more affordable and get South Florida the representation they deserve,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.

For 25 years, Eliott Rodriguez gained the trust of South Florida families as their CBS Miami news anchor. The son of Cuban immigrants who knows firsthand how important it is to have a fair, just, and safe immigration system, Eliott earned the trust of South Florida families by listening to their stories, asking tough questions and always telling them the truth. He’s fighting for lower costs because his own family has had to leave Miami due to Salazar’s agenda that’s making life too expensive in Miami and across South Florida. Eliott has a track record in Florida’s 27th Congressional District that voters can trust and that’s why they’re going to send him to D.C. in November.

Public polling in FL-27 shows this race in a statistical tie as Cook Political Report moved the district towards Democrats just one week ago.

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue building winning campaigns. Additionally, through Red to Blue the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, fundraising support, and more.
