ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL: House Republicans Will Answer for President Trump’s Border Wall Executive Action

American taxpayers are expected to bear the financial burden –  House GOP will pay the political price

It took less than one week for Donald Trump to order the construction of his Mexican border wall. Beyond the fact that this is a cruel, unpopular and impractical endeavor, Mexico has made it clear to the Trump Administration that they will not pay a dime. Trump and House Republicans have instead made clear they’re going to pick the pockets of hardworking American taxpayers to pay for the wall, and for this House Republicans will pay their own price.

“The American people are watching the Trump Administration closely in its first week, and these executive actions clarify that Republican-controlled Washington is focused on embracing President Trump’s scorching campaign rhetoric that attacks large groups of people, rather than fulfilling his populist promises. To push a cruel, impractical and expensive border wall, instead of finding ways to create good paying jobs and protect and improve health care coverage, is completely tone-deaf and House Republicans should brace for the coming political backlash,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC.
