Today, President Trump signed an executive order that could destabilize health insurance markets, drive up costs, and allow insurance companies to sell health insurance plans to Americans with high deductibles and without essential health benefits. This comes on top of the Trump Administration penalizing Minnesota for lowering its premiums and stabilizing MNsure.
Congress has failed to address the rising cost of healthcare or stand up to President Trump’s deliberate sabotage of health insurance markets. It is time for Rep. Erik Paulsen to act.
“Congressman Erik Paulsen and the do-nothing Republican Congress has failed to do anything to address the rising cost of healthcare or the instability in healthcare markets created by President Trump’s erratic behavior and reckless executive order,” said DCCC spokesperson Rachel Irwin. “Erik Paulsen should put politics aside and work with Democrats to make healthcare more affordable or be ready for voters to show him the door in 2018.”
