Esther Joy King Opposes Historic Infrastructure Deal Signed Into Law This Week

Illinoisans got a historic win this week thanks to House Democrats, King says she’s against it

This week, President Biden signed into law the wildly popular bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that House Democrats worked to pass to deliver real results for families and workers across IllinoisJust don’t thank IL-17 candidate Esther Joy King, who opposes the historic economic investments and job creation in Illinois and even promised to “fight” against the law “with all we’ve got!”

This infrastructure deal marks the largest and most meaningful action on our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century. But if King had her way, she’d side with party bosses over Illinoisans on bipartisan legislation to fix our crumbling roads and bridges, ease inflation, create millions of good-paying jobs, and ensure Illinoisans have access to high-speed internet and clean water.

“If Esther Joy King had her way, she’d let our nation’s crumbling infrastructure fall into disrepair and pass up the opportunity to create good-paying, union jobs in Illinois’ 17th Congressional district,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “It’s pretty simple: King is proving she’d rather side with Washington Republicans than work across the aisle to deliver results for Northwest Illinois.”
