Everyone (STILL) Hates The Big, Ugly Bill

New Poll Shows Growing Opposition to GOP Tax Scam

While House Republicans continue to lie to the public about how harmful their Big, Ugly Bill is, new polling released over the weekend shows voters aren’t buying their falsehoods. According to the poll, a majority of Americans think that the GOP Tax Scam is designed to help the wealthy while hurting the middle class and working families. The poll also showed that most Americans know the legislation would reduce the number of Americans with health insurance and increase the federal deficit.

REMINDER:
According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, the GOP Tax Scam would result in 16 million people uninsured by gutting Medicaid and failing to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. Hospitals will close and nearly 24 million people will see their monthly health care costs increase as a result.

The poll affirms recent research from the DCCC and DSCC from across the battleground revealing that a message calling out Republican cuts to health care and food assistance programs to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy is the most effective when communicating with voters.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The American people want lower costs, affordable health care, and an economy that works for them, not the super rich. In poll after poll, opposition to the Republican Tax Scam continues to grow because it fails to help working families while unfairly benefiting the wealthiest few.”
