Today is DAY FIVE and Laurie Buckhout is still MIA
The Mark Robinson campaign is losing top staffers left and right, but Robinson has yet to lose the support of Laurie Buckhout. It’s now five days later and Buckhout continues to stay silent after deleting her tweets with Robinson on Thursday.
On the running list of things to address, Buckhout hasn’t:
Released any statement
Called for Robinson to drop out of the race
Requested a refund for the more than $17,000 she and her husband have donated to his campaigns
Laurie Buckhout must think that these headlines will go away and the pressure will fade, but voters deserve to know where she stands and the DCCC won’t let her off the hook.
Why won’t Laurie Buckhout say anything about Mark Robinson?
DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“Condemning racism and antisemitism should be common sense. Laurie Buckhout’s inability to do so makes it clear that she will put partisan politics and personal relationships over decency – a disqualifying trait for someone trying to represent eastern North Carolinians in Congress.”
