EXPOSED: Texas Voter Calls Out Monica De La Cruz for Lying About Gutting Medicaid

Monica De La Cruz has once again been caught lying to Texans.

Following her decisive vote for the Big, Ugly Law, De La Cruz has been on defense, claiming the bill ends “abuse and mismanagement” and “strengthens rural health infrastructure” – hiding the disastrous reality that her law will leave Texans without access to Medicaid and SNAP.

Left to pick up the bill, Texans are calling her out. In a new letter, a Valley voter questions De La Cruz’s disastrous vote begging De La Cruz to stand up for their communities.

As voters demand answers, will Monica De La Cruz ever be able to provide truthful answers?

DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Monica De La Cruz continues to hide under a pile of lies to hide the fact that she has betrayed her constituents. Texans are fed up with lies and lip service – and that’s all De La Cruz can provide.”

Read the scathing letter for yourself…

  • U.S. Rep. Monica De La Cruz voted in favor of the Donald Trump’s budget bill, passed in the House on May 22. She is an ardent supporter of cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits.
  • While Rep. De La Cruz proclaims in her newsletter that the bill “fully protects” funding for Medicaid and SNAP benefits, it does not. The bill proposes to cut $700 billion in Medicaid over the next 10 years and $300 billion in SNAP.
  • De La Cruz and her MAGA colleagues would require new work requirements to be eligible for Medicaid: 80 hours per month of work, education or service and verification (more paperwork) of eligibility for the program twice a year, rather than just once. Miss the filing deadline and you’re out.
  • But wait! Why the work requirements when, as of 2023, 64% of Medicaid recipients were working, 12% were caregivers and unable to work, and the remaining 24% were students, retirees or persons with disabilities?
  • These are data from the Kaiser Family Foundation. If you do not like the numbers, please, Congresswoman De La Cruz, show us your data, show us the waste, fraud and abuse, in quantifiable terms, that support these severe cuts that could horribly impact south Texans.
  • And what about the dire impact to food banks, community health services and hospital care in general? Already, the Rio Grande Valley Food bank is experiencing severe shortages and empty shelves.
  • Meanwhile, DOGE troopers, with the full endorsement of Monica De La Cruz, are creating havoc and chaos in the federal government. If she is against waste, fraud and abuse, then she should, by all means, help the American people eliminate the wasteful, fraudulent and abusive power of our autocrat-in-chief, Donald Trump.
