This week, POLITICO delivered another blow, reporting that California Republicans are on “the brink of extinction” and “fighting each other for scraps.” Their own party insiders described the feeling on the ground as “demoralized,” “massacred,” and “obliterat[ed],” as vulnerable incumbents sprint to the right and party operatives point fingers.
This comes after outlets reported just last month that Republican lawmakers across the state were “increasingly irrelevant,” “on the run,” and in a “fight for their political lives.”
