Last week, a report in the Oregon Capital Chronicle revealed that an extremist anti-abortion group, the National Right to Life Victory Fund, is pouring thousands of dollars into OR-05 to boost MAGA Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer. This organization is pushing model legislation to ban abortion without exception for rape or incest, and they are seeking to ban medication abortion at the federal level.
As if that weren’t bad enough, Chavez-DeRemer just collected a $5,000 check from the National Pro-Life Alliance PAC – an organization that routinely asks candidates to commit to a constitutional amendment that bans abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.
This comes as Chavez-DeRemer has been desperately trying to cover up her staunch anti-choice positions on abortion, despite the fact that she tweeted her support for an extreme ban of six weeks just months ago. In addition to supporting this extreme, near-total ban on abortion, Chavez-DeRemer also tweeted that she was “encouraged” by the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
