Extremist Carey Coleman Hit With DOJ Complaint After Allegedly Hiding Personal Finances From Primary Voters

Extremist radio host Carey Coleman is in the hot seat this week following new allegations that he broke federal law to keep Ohio voters in the dark about his personal finances.

Recent reporting from Cleveland.com reveals that Coleman blew past a federal deadline requiring him to disclose his personal finances before Ohio’s May 5th primary and was over a month late before finally filing yesterday after this story was published — prompting a formal federal ethics complaint filed with the Department of Justice.

Federal law is clear: candidates have to tell voters where their money comes from before they cast a ballot. But Coleman wrote himself check after check to bankroll his primary campaign with over $50,000 of his own money — then seemingly refused to disclose a single thing about where that money came from.

REMINDER: This is only Carey Coleman’s third week running in the general election, and his flailing campaign is already dealing with its second scandal. Just last week, Coleman was caught telling Ohio’s teachers’ unions to “go to hell.”

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“It’s only week three and extremist Carey Coleman’s campaign is already a hot mess. The last thing Ohio’s 13th District needs is another shameless self-funder who thinks the rules don’t apply to him.
