Since January, Extremist Ringleader Kevin McCarthy has made an about face on our democracy. He once accepted that former President Trump bore some responsibility for inciting the violent mob that attacked our Capitol on January 6th. Now, he’s become an extremist GOP ringleader fighting to obstruct any fact-finding mission regarding the January 6th insurrection as he and his lieutenants continue to gaslight the American people with lies about who’s to blame for the assault on our democracy.
Since January, McCarthy and House Republicans have obstructed bipartisan fact-finding missions and 21 GOP members even refused to honor the police officers with congressional gold medals for their sacrifice, which included saving the lives of Members of Congress, their staff, and former Vice President Pence. McCarthy continued his cowardly political attacks on the bipartisan commission he attempted to obstruct even today, moments before American heroes described the beatings they took with American flags during the insurrection.
