FACT CHECK: No Laurie, North Carolinians Do Not Have “Lower Bills”

North Carolina Families are paying $2,500 more under the Buckhout agenda
While on stage at a party that costs $25,000 a head, Laurie Buckhout made the outlandish claim that Republicans’ disastrous “Big Ugly Bill” created “lower bills” for North Carolina families. 

The reality? Working families are paying more than ever before. North Carolinians are staring down a $500/year increase in their utility bills. Grocery prices are skyrocketing and families are struggling to put food on the table. And voters are seeing their health care premiums double thanks to Republicans’ failure to extend the ACA tax credits.

And it was all to pay for tax giveaways to the wealthiest people in the country – like Laurie.

“Maybe Laurie Buckhout’s bills got lower, but working families’ bills sure didn’t. Voters in Eastern North Carolina don’t want an out-of-touch, out-of-towner as their representative.
