Failed Politician Derrick Van Orden Accepts Endorsement from Far-Right Senator In Latest Signal He’s Too Extreme for WI

Birds of a feather flock together as Derrick Van Orden cozies up to extremist Tom Cotton

As failed candidate Derrick Van Orden campaigns in Wisconsin’s third Congressional district, he’s already making clear where his loyalties lie – with extreme far-right party leaders like Senator Tom Cotton and not with the people of Western Wisconsin.

Van Orden has accepted the endorsement of Tom Cotton, who has a dangerous and fringe record of supporting deploying troops on peaceful protesters, calling slavery a “necessary evil,” pushing baseless theories of election irregularities, and voting against establishing a commission to investigate the deadly attack on our Capitol on January 6.

Cotton’s endorsement comes after Van Orden was highlighted in a recent New York Times report for his role in “pushing Mr. Trump’s baseless claims that he was robbed of re-election.

“Derrick Van Orden’s endorsement by a far-right extreme senator is just the latest indication that he’s out of touch with Wisconsin values. It’s no wonder why fringe Washington Republicans like Tom Cotton are lining up to support Van Orden – they know he’d be a reliable vote for their agenda and not an independent voice for Wisconsin,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn.
