| Millions of Americans are at risk of losing SNAP benefits before the end of the month if Ken Calvert and Republicans’ government shutdown continues – that includes 5.5 million Californians who will lose CalFresh benefits starting next month.
REMINDER: By rubberstamping the GOP’s Big, Ugly Law, Calvert voted to gut food assistance supporting more than 30,000 households in his district.
DOUBLE REMINDER: Californians are at risk because Calvert and House Republicans refuse to come back to work to negotiate an extension of Affordable Care Act tax credits, threatening health care for nearly 1.7 million Californians after already voting for the largest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in history.
But now, ~suddenly~ Calvert is pointing fingers on social media and calling to put people over “the radical politics” of an “unhinged base.”
Ken could start by taking his own advice.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“If Ken Calvert really cared about ensuring California families can put food on the table, he wouldn’t have voted to gut food assistance for 30,000 of them. He could act now to protect his constituents – but he’s choosing politics over people. It’s shameful, and Californians deserve better.” |
