In yet another display of political cowardice, David Valadao spent yesterday wrestling with fake “concerns” over the GOP’s extreme rescissions package – before, in *shocking* news, voting yes.
It’s the same old story from Valadao, who cast the deciding vote on the GOP Tax Scam, tearing health care away from over 65,000 of his constituents, after he promised Californians he wouldn’t touch Medicaid.
Let’s recap:
On rescission:
- He voiced “concerns” to House leadership over the rescission package, but when asked how he’d vote, he said “I haven’t decided yet.”
- When pressed on that meeting, he said “I’m not gonna disclose any conversations I’ve had.”
- When asked if he thought the recissions package would pass, he said “I don’t know. I honestly don’t.”
- He voted YES.
On reconciliation:
- He signed onto a lip service letter to GOP leadership expressing fake concern over Medicaid cuts.
- He sent three separate letters expressing fake concern for stalled infrastructure projects and higher utility bills for Californians if clean energy tax credit cuts went through.
- He voted YES.
- He sent a letter to the Senate begging them to “mitigate” the damage caused by his own vote to gut clean energy tax credits.
- He met with Senate leadership this week to discuss his “concerns” over reconciliation cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and clean energy tax credits – cuts he rubberstamped with a deciding vote in the House.
- He will vote ??? (undoubtedly YES again).
The only thing Valadao has remained consistent on is betraying the Central Valley.

“No one is buying David Valadao’s bullshit. How many times have we seen him pretending to have ‘concerns’ only to turn around and vote with his Republican bosses? This isn’t just failed leadership—it’s cowardice. Voters will remember in 2026.”
